Ingredients for Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo:
- 1/3 cup cooking oil.
- 1/3 cup flour.
- 1 onion, chopped.
- 2 clove garlic, minced.
- 1 red pepper, chopped.
- 1 green pepper, chopped.
- 1 cup celery, chopped.
- 1/2 cup okra, sliced.
- 2 1/2 cup chicken stock.
- 2 tsp Cajun seasoning.
- 1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce or Louisiana hot sauce.
- 2 andouille sausage links.
- 1/2 lb raw, deveined shrimp.
- salt.

- Create a roux with flour and cooking oil. Stir and cook on medium until roux turns a dark reddish brown.
- Add onions, peppers, celery, garlic, and okra. Cook for 8-10 minutes until vegetables tender..
