- 1 quart mason jar w/ ring and lid.
- Brine.
- 1/2 cup water.
- 2 cup white vinegar.
- 1/2 tbsp powdered red pepper.
- 1 tbsp red pepper flakes.
- 1 tsp garlic, minced.
- 1 tbsp dried onion.
- 1 tsp paprika.
- 1/2 tsp white pepper.
- 1 tbsp sea salt.
- 1 large pinch of allspice.
- Sausages.
- 28 oz Pkg. of Hillshire Farms lil Smokies.
Step by step how to cook CopyKat Penrose Sausages:
- Add all of the ingredients to a medium size pot; with the exception of the sausages, and bring the mixture to a boil at medium heat for 5 minutes..
- Place the sausages in a clean and sterile 1 quart mason jar and pour the hot brine over the sausage; filling the jar to just cover the sausages..
