Ingredients for Ginger ale Sausage and Rice:

  1. 12 ounces ginger ale, I used Vernor's.
  2. 1 pound kielbasa smoked beef sausage.
  3. 1 cup rice.
  4. 1/4 cup vegetable oil.
  5. 1/2 cup diced onions.
  6. 1 teaspoon salt.
  7. 1 tablespoon saffron flowers.
  8. 12 ounces steamed broccoli and cauliflower mix.
  9. 2 cup water.

Step by step how to cook Ginger ale Sausage and Rice:

  1. Heat the oil and fry the rice.
  2. When the rice starts to turn white add the ginger ale and 1 cup water. Bring to a simmer..
  3. Add the salt and saffron flowers. Note saffron flowers is different than the spice saffron. It's cheaper and not as flavorable as actual saffron..
  4. Stir well. Let boil for 10 minutes.
  5. By now the rice should be low on liquids. Slice the sausage into 1 inch size. Add into the rice..
  6. Let it simmer stirring occasionally for 3-5 minutes..
  7. Add the second cup of water. Steam the broccoli and cauliflower..
  8. Add the broccoli and cauliflower after you steam 5 minutes..
  9. Stir in taste and adjust salt if need be..
  10. Cover and remove from heat. Let rest 15 minutes..
  11. Serve I hope you enjoy!!!.
